چکیده

Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) is an acknowledged standard for quantification of left ventricular volumes, but the acceptance of CMR to measure the volume of the right ventricle (RV), including sub-units, such as inlet, outlet, and apical segment has been limited. In patients with Fallot (TOF), the size and function of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) in the course of an RR-interval can serve as indication for re-operation in cases of pulmonary stenosis, regurgitation, or RVOT aneurysms. in addition to the results of conductance examinations. However, none of the available software applications provides a suitable systematic subdivison of the total volume. A novel algorithm was developed for this purpose and tested in this study.

The Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...

بررسی یافته های اکوکاردیو گرافیک قلبی در بیماران سیروز کبدی

Introduction: Cardiovascular abnormalities have been reported in liver cirrhosis (LC). In these patients, cardiac symptoms and physical signs occur as the liver functions worsen. Cirrhosis is associated with hyper dynamic circulation and beta-adrenergic system changes responsible for the cardiovascular abnormalities. The purpose of the present study was to explore the echocardiographic findi...

Pulmonary valve replacement in patients with tetralogy of Fallot and pulmonary regurgitation: early surgery similar to optimal timing of surgery?

Tetralogy of Fallot is the most common form of cyanotic congenital heart disease, with a prevalence of 0.26–0.8 per 1000 live births. Total repair for tetralogy of Fallot has been available for 50 years with a favourable outcome in most patients. Today, one is faced with an increasing number of patients with residual pulmonary regurgitation. It was previously thought that pulmonary regurgitatio...

Sexual Dimorphism in Volume of the Cerebral Hemispheres and Lateral Ventricles in Schizophrenia Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Purpose: This study is designed to determine the sexual dimorphism pattern in volume of the cerebral hemispheres and lateral ventricles in schizophrenia using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and to compare it with normal sexual dimorphism pattern in healthy brains. Materials and Methods: This study is performed on 29 healthy volunteers (21 males, 8 females) and 29 patients suffered from schiz...

Semi-automated evaluation of right ventricular volumes using gradient cine magnetic resonance data sets: an in vitro validation study

Purpose: The current cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) based approach to assessment of right ventricular (RV) volumes is time-consuming and not optimized for routine clinical use. This study tested a new CMR based 3-Dimensional (3D) method of RV volume estimation that employed automated tracking to reduce analysis time. Methods: Twenty RV-shaped latex models of different sizes (25-225 ml) were s...
